Elliot A. Dubin


Elliot A. Dubin is Associate in our Workers’ Compensation Department.

Elliot earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University Nevada Las Vegas in 1999. He majored in Hotel Administration. After a decade of working in hospitality and management, Elliot went on to earn his Juris Doctor, cum lade from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2012.

During law school, Elliot interned under Supreme Court rule 7-11 for the Cook County Public Defender’s Office where he clerked in the juvenile delinquency division. Later he continued his Rule 7-11 experiences working in the adult felony division of the Kane County State’s Attorneys Office.  Additionally, Elliot represented his law school at the Texas Young Lawyers Association National Trial Competition and successfully completed a Summer Program in Agen, France on European Civil Law.  Through these experiences, Elliot gained invaluable legal research, writing, and analysis skills. He also completed a certificate in pro bono service during law school.

Elliot was also a Graduate teacher’s assistant at Northern Illinois University teaching courses in the hospitality management department.

Elliot was admitted to the Illinois Bar and the Northern District of Illinois General Bar in 2012.  Additionally, Elliot was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 2019, the United States Supreme Court Bar in 2020, and the Federal District of Connecticut in 2021.

Before joining Rusin & Maciorowski, Elliot was a solo practitioner and also spent time working for a small law firm in Connecticut focusing on criminal defense and later a large national firm working within creditor rights litigation. Elliot also spent some time teaching full time at the University of North Texas in the College of Merchandising, Hospitality & Tourism Management.  When Elliot moved back to Illinois to be closer to family, he wanted to work more within his passion of defense and joined Rusin & Maciorowski.

Elliot is a “Go Getter” and a collegial team player who takes a proactive approach to the defense of workers’ compensation claims. He is a highly skilled investigator who takes a deliberate approach to obtaining facts and developing evidence.

Elliot worked in the hospitality and distribution industries for over ten years, which helped him, develop a strong foundation and commitment to impeccable client service and understanding of business objectives.

Outside of work, Elliot enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and daughter, spending time with his dog, cooking, traveling, and cheering on his Chicago Sports teams
