Chase A. Rich is an Associate in our Workers’ Compensation Department.
Chase graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies with a minor in Political Science from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2017. During his undergraduate studies, Chase was a member of the University Honors Program and of the Lamda Epsilon Chi Paralegal Honor Society. He also interned at the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, assisting in the preparation of 2 murder trials.
Chase then earned his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2020. During law school, Chase was a member of the Advanced Appellate Moot Court Team, competing in national competitions that focused on issues surrounding the Fourth Amendment and the Federal Rules of Evidence. He was also the Graduate Student Outreach Chair at the Newman Catholic Student Center, and he was the elected representative of his class to the Student Bar Association for all 3 years of law school. During the summers before his 2L and 3L years, Chase clerked for the Thomas More Society, a national public interest law firm based in Chicago.
After law school, Chase began working as an Associate at a regionally respected civil litigation firm in Mattoon, IL, while he was still studying for the Bar Exam. There, he focused on defense of personal injury cases on the behalf of insurance companies. Chase then worked as a prosecutor for the Coles County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he managed a full docket of cases from filing through trial, and he tried 6 jury trials with guilty verdicts in 5 of them.
Chase joined Rusin & Maciorowski in March of 2023 and looks forward to utilizing his broad knowledge of the law; experience; and legal skills to zealously and eagerly serve his clients.
Chase resides with his wife and son in Charleston, Illinois. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, hiking, and kayaking.
