Corey Hamilton-Buis

Associate

Corey Hamilton-Buis is an associate in our Worker’s Compensation Department.

Corey earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in History from Grand Valley State University in 2020. He initially used that degree to springboard a career as a field director for political campaigns in Michigan, New York, and Florida. In 2022, he went on to pursue a Juris Doctorate from the Chicago-Kent College of Law with a certificate in Labor & Employment law. During Law School, Corey served as the 15th President of the Chicago-Kent Labor and Employment Law Society, clerked in an Employment Law Clinic, competed in the Robert F. Wagner National Moot Court Competition, and externed with the Illinois State Government. Prior to joining Rusin Law, Corey served as a law clerk for a labor management coordination committee researching, drafting, and organizing legislation and ordinances for Illinois and its municipalities. Corey brings his extensive experience as a legal researcher along with his record of leadership to his work in worker’s compensation defense.

In his free time, Corey enjoys spending time with his friends and family, watching old movies, studying history, and engaging in volunteer work.
