Kisa Sthankiya Appointed to Workers’ Compensation Medical Fee Advisory Board

We are proud to announce that Kisa Sthankiya, Partner at Rusin Law, Ltd., has been appointed by Illinois Governor JB Pritzker to serve as a Member of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission (IWCC) Medical Fee Advisory Board, representing employers. Her term will run through December 2028.

The Medical Fee Advisory Board plays a vital role in Illinois’ workers’ compensation system, providing guidance on the medical fee schedule and ensuring fair, balanced input from key stakeholders. The nine-member board includes equal representation from employees, employers, and medical providers.

Kisa brings deep experience in workers’ compensation defense and a strong record of leadership. In addition to her practice at Rusin Law, where she delivers strategic counsel to employers across Illinois, she serves as a writer and lecturer for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE). In 2023, she was also appointed by Governor Pritzker to the Commission Review Board.

Kisa is known for her collaborative, solution-focused approach, working closely with clients to develop strategies aligned with their goals. She bring a commitment to enhancing the efficiency, fairness, and accessibility of the Illinois workers’ compensation system.  Her appointment underscores her reputation as a trusted advocate for employers and a thought leader in the field.
